Dev Letter: Warborne Above Ashes Server Structure Overview
Long time no see, Driftmasters. We hope this brief armistice hasn't dulled your fighting spirit.
Today we'd like to introduce something many of you have been curious about: the Server and Season mechanics for Warborne. This is the most important gameplay blueprint for the future of Warborne Above Ashes—and one of the core pillars of the Warborne Universe.
Be patient, Driftmasters. You're going to like this.
Born for War: The Universe, Galaxies, and Planets of Warborne Above Ashes
Before we delve into the specifics of servers, we want to explain the core philosophy and vision behind the server architecture of Warborne Above Ashes.

Uniting players from around the world in a single universe for all-out warfare and thrilling combat—this is the ultimate goal of Warborne Above Ashes. The game is designed as a sci-fi post-apocalyptic MMORPG with a focus on large-scale PvP combat.
However, real-world physical constraints—such as single-server capacity, time zone differences, and network latency—often impact the player experience. To address this, we've adopted a "Galaxy - Planet - Stargate" architecture to maximize cross-regional interaction and ensure fair competition.
⭐ Key Features
- Unified Existence: All Driftmasters exist within the same interconnected universe.
- Geographical Recommendation: Players will be recommended galaxies based on time zones and network conditions for the most optimal experience.

At the start of each season, multiple "Planets" (i.e. servers in the traditional sense) will be dynamically created in each Galaxy based on activity levels. Each Planet will host a month-long Conquest Season, where players compete for multiple honors such as Planetary Sovereign, Warlord, Reclaimer, and Survivor.
Season Reset Mechanics
Every day in Warborne will be forged in blood and fire—we want every season to feel fresh and fiercely competitive for all Driftmasters. This applies both within a single season and between seasons.

Central Server of Each Galaxy – The Gate

What is the Gate?
The Gate is the central server that exists between season transitions:
⏰ Core Functions
🤝 Regroup and seek out new opponents on new Planets
This is the transit station for the entire galaxy during planetary wars: here you can find Driftmasters from other Planets, communicate and spar with them and prepare for the upcoming wars on the next Planet!
Cross-Server Gameplay Within the Galaxy
We will consider the following methods to enhance interaction among Driftmasters from different Planets within the same galaxy:
Cross-Server Matchmaking
Cross-Server matchmaking for "Veinhold Extraction" and possibly a "Galactic Arena". This will support cross-server confrontations within the galaxy, enriching gameplay and reducing unfair cooperation and cheating.
Future Vision
In the future, we will also strive to ensure that Driftmasters from different Planets will be able to have engaging interactions and communication (limitations permitting)!
Legacy of the Nomad Empire: Interstellar Trading and Migration

As descendants of the once-lost Nomad Empire, all in the Warborne universe still retain this unique nomadic instinct—a yearn for trade and migration that cannot be diminished. In the future, Warborne Above Ashes will introduce two brand-new systems, and I am thrilled to announce them to you in advance: "Interstellar Trading" and "Interstellar Migration".
Interstellar Trading
In the war-torn universe of Warborne Above Ashes, crucial war materials are mainly obtained from the Planets themselves. However, wares from distant galaxies, some scarce and valuable goods can be found occasionally from certain special markets.
Trading Opportunities
In the future Interstellar Trading market of Warborne Above Ashes, you will be able to trade certain non-core consumables with players from different regions of other galaxies: this will include cosmetics, mounts, blueprints, recipes, etc. This means that even if you are not in a highly populated or active galaxy or Planet, you can still access goods from other players across the entire Warborne universe.
Trading Restriction: To ensure the stability of the season's ecosystem, consumables and equipment will still be restricted to trading within the current Planet.
Interstellar Migration
Migrating to better Planets for conquest is one of the fundamental desires of all Driftmasters and Warbands. We will be opening Interstellar Migration in a future version:
After each season settlement, players may have the opportunity to migrate to other galaxies through the Interstellar Migration system to challenge opponents from different regions.
We will continuously optimize the cross-time zones and cross-regional network experience, striving to make every expedition smooth and seamless.
Allowing all Driftmasters to freely execute strategic objectives in the Warborne universe is one of our primary goals! We believe Interstellar Migration will provide everyone with richer experiences and stories!
Conclusion
How does this sound? We hope this summary of the season and server structure gives you a deeper understanding of what Warborne Above Ashes will look like in the future. But, of course, this is just a small part—the war for Planetary Conquest, I imagine, would be what you are most focused on.
We will soon discuss a series of upcoming changes, including combat modifications. If that interests you, please feel free to add Warborne Above Ashes to your wishlist—Trust us, we won't let you down.
We will see you soon again, Driftmaster.
